What’s the difference between GST and GST duty?

GST is a system of taxes that is administered by the Australian Government and covers goods and services, including agricultural and agricultural products, telecommunications services and tourism.

GST is paid by consumers and businesses in Australia.

Under the GST system, goods and/or services are taxed at the rate of 1.5 per cent of the value of the goods or services, whichever is lower.

The rate of GST is the same regardless of the source of the product or service.

The GST rate is also the same in all states, territories and overseas territories, except in the Northern Territory.

In addition, GST is collected in the Territory and the Commonwealth and is included in the gross revenue of each state and territory.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) provides an online calculator to help you determine how much GST you would have to pay if you purchased goods or used services from the ABC, AAP, the Government of Queensland or a state, territory or overseas territory.
