Edmonton, AB, Canada — July 15, 2018 — The latest version of the Edmonton GST Calculator has been released.
It shows the amount of GST you would have to pay to get a $500 vehicle and $500 home improvement rebate in Edmonton.
I have updated the calculator to include the Edmonton rebate for 2018.
The Edmonton rebate amounts are as follows: $500 to $500,000: $50 rebate.
$500 and up: $75 rebate.
If you buy your home with a new buyer’s deposit of $500 or more, you can claim the full $500 rebate, which can range from $75 to $125.
If you buy with an existing mortgage or credit card, you may be eligible for a reduced rebate of $25 to $50.
The rebate is based on your home’s assessed value (ADV) as of July 1, 2018.
For a new home, the total assessed value of the home, including the GST and any additional taxes, is the entire value of your home at the time of the purchase.
For an existing home, you will get the full rebate.
If the assessed value changes during the rebate period, you should contact the property manager to see if your rebate amount will be adjusted.
If you’re using the Alberta Property Assessment Program, the calculator will also show you the rebate amount for each year you live in the province, but it will also tell you the difference between the amount you pay for your home and the amount it would cost you to buy the same home elsewhere in Alberta.
This calculator uses the 2017 Alberta tax tables.
You can find the latest version here.
This calculator is based entirely on the 2017 tax tables and is only valid in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut, Yukon and Northwest Territories.
If your property is located in a province that does not use the 2017 tables, you cannot use this calculator.
